Nsimbe also praised news signings David Mwangi and Paul Odhiambo after making their debuts for the league champions. "They are good players and they will give us more options in the team. Mwangi (David) had a good game while Paul (Odhiambo) also played well but didn't finish the match. We hope they'll improve with time."

The draw helped Tusker to reclaim top spot on the 18-team table after Gor Mahia lost 2-0 to Sofapaka in Meru. Tusker have 28 points, one adrift of second placed K'Ogalo while Ulinzi Stars moved third on 25 points after salvaging a 1-1 draw against Sony Sugar.
