Tunisia coach Mourad Okbi to report Egypt manager Javier Aguirre over 'inappropriate gesture'

Tunisia interim coach Mourad Okbi says they will lodge a complaint against Egypt tactician, Javier Aguirre for making an inappropriate gesture during the Friday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Alexandria.

Okbi alleges that Aguirre made an obscene gesture with his hand after Mahmoud Trezeguet scored Egypt’s equalizing goal in the first half. Trezeguet brought Egypt back into the game after Naim Sliti had thrust Tunisia ahead.

“We will lodge an official complaint against Aguirre because of the gesture that was shown on television, it's an inappropriate gesture,” said Okbi at the post-match press conference.

Baher El Mohamady scored Egypt’s second goal before Sliti struck again to draw the game level. But Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored a last-minute winner for the Egyptians after ripping through the Tunisian defence after some neat exchanges with Salah Mohsen.

The goal left Okbi fuming at his defence for the defeat. "The result favours Egypt, but we played well. We wasted a chance towards the end and we conceded the third goal immediately after. But we were not good defensively and that's why we lost tonight,” said Okbi.

Tunisia will face eSwatini in their last group match early in 2019.
