Goal's resident spy reveals the shot stopper will trade Newcastle for Saudi Arabia

Australian goalkeeper Jack Duncan has attracted the attention of a Saudi Arabian club, who have triggered his release from Newcastle Jets.

The Covert Agent can reveal the club is believed to be eight-time Saudi Premier League winners Al-Nassr, though Al-Qadsiah are also in the running after making a late enquiry.

Newcastle confirmed on Monday night that they received a significant transfer fee for Duncan and were left with no choice but to release the 25-year-old.

Duncan made 19 A-League appearances for the Jets last season but cruelly missed out on the grand final after picking up an injury in a semi-final against Melbourne City.

After coming up through Newcastle's ranks, Duncan has also previously had short stints with Perth Glory and Danish side Randers.

If Al-Nassr is to be his next destination, the club are no strangers to Australian players having previously had Mark Bresciano in their ranks and were linked to a big-money move for Aaron Mooy in 2015.

Should it be Al-Qadsiah however, Duncan would link up with fellow Aussie Rhys Williams, who moved to the club from Melbourne Victory in the off season.
