Chemelil Sugar players have finally accepted to honour their league match against Kakamega Homeboys.

The club also owes players eight-match winning allowances dating back to last season.

Early this week, the club's management only paid each player Sh10,000 after receiving Sh1.1 million monthly grants from Kenyan Premier League Limited.

This did not go well with the players who threatened not to honour their league fixtures unless all their dues are settled.

And until Sunday morning, there were fears that Chemelil Sugar may not honour their away fixture in Bukhungu Stadium after players protested the poor mistreatment unit the management intervened with yet another promise.

According to a reliable source, Chemelil left for Kakamega via Kisumu this morning.

"The team has left this morning and they are expected to have a stopover in Kisumu for breakfast then proceed to Kakamega. The issue will be settled next week,"; said our source who wished not to be named.

Chemelil are set to join their colleagues who delayed the kick off of all the three matches staged on Saturday with at least five minutes, sit-in on the pitch in solidarity with the suffering colleague who have not been paid by their respective clubs.
