Stoke City‘s Etebo in contention for Bristol City clash

Oghenekaro Etebo could return for Stoke City when they clash with Bristol City at Ashton Gate in Saturday’s English Championship encounter.

The energetic midfielder missed the Potters’ last two games against Birmingham City and Sheffield United owing to an injury.

Prior to the setback, the 22-year-old has been a consistent fixture since he joined from Feirense in the summer featuring in 11 league games.

However, the Nigeria international completed his first training session on Thursday to hand boss Gary Rowett a boost ahead of their meeting with the Robins.

“Peter Etebo came through training today which is another real positive for us,” Rowett said in a pre-match conference.

“Peter hasn’t missed any great length of time, so he won’t have lost any real fitness so it shouldn’t be an issue for him to come back into the group again.”

Stoke are winless in their last two games, losing to Birmingham before playing a stalemate with Sheffield.

They are 17th in the league log with 17 points from 14 outings and will be aiming for the maximum points against Bristol.
