Emmanuel Okwi scored his first away goal of the season in a game which Simba were held by a 2-2 draw against Mwadui at Kambarage Stadium Shinyanga on Thursday.
John Bocco broke a deadlock in the 9th minute of the game, finishing off a brilliant cross from Shiza Kichuya.
Simba suffered a blow after 29 minute when their first goal scorer John Bocco failed to continue with the game following injury and Laudit Mavugo came in for his place.
The game went to half time Simba leading the show with 1-0.
Mwadui FC started the second half strongly and David Luhende equalized after 60 minutes from a free kick from 18 yards.
Referee Shomari Lawi awarded a red card to Simba central defender Juuko Murshid after 65 minutes, leaving Simba with ten men on the pitch.
Lechantre’s side totally dominated the second half but were frustrated by a sturdy Mwadui defence until Okwi drove home their second goal from the spot kick in the 71st minute.
But Mwadui FC fought hard and would not be denied a point as striker Paul Nonga made matters level in the 89th minute.
The late leveller left Simba manager Pierre Lechantre with mixed feelings but he was proud of the way a makeshift defence had coped with the intense pressure.
Simba still tops the league standing after accumulating 42 points, 5 points ahead of Yanga.
