Former Football Kenyan Federation boss Sam Nyamweya has urged the country to rally behind Gor Mahia when they take on Yanga SC in the Caf Confederation match on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia will host the Tanzanian side from 7.00PM at the Kasarani Stadium in a must-win clash; if they are to keep alive the dream of progressing to the next round.

“I urge the country to rally behind the team as they bid to extend their history-making run in Caf competitions,” said Nyamweya.

“Gor Mahia have done the country proud in how they have represented Kenyan football over the last few seasons and have earned their respect.

“Those who can make it to the stadium, please make your to Kasarani tonight and cheer on the team while those unable to make it and those who do not live in Nairobi please show your solidarity by following the team performance through the various media platforms that will be covering the proceedings live."

Nyamweya also lauded the club’s leadership for addressing the thorny issue of players’ go-slow due to unpaid allowances.
