Quaye insists Kotoko can't progress in Caf Confederation Cup against CARA Brazzaville

The defender believes the Porcupine Warriors will not have their way through to the next stage of the Caf Confederation Cup

Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye has rejected suggestions that Asante Kotoko are the favourites to progress to the first round of the Caf Confederation Cup against CARA Brazzaville on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors go into the game with a 1-0 advantage after missing three penalties in Kumasi and Quaye believes that the Congolese side will retaliate.

"Asante Kotoko should forget about qualification to the next stage of the Caf Consideration Cup because CARA Brazzaville will frustrate and rob them to qualify," Quaye told Aseda FM.

"There is no fairness in African football and so if they conceded four penalties in Kumasi last week, they will try and retaliate and at least have three penalties in Brazzaville.

"Kotoko should be aware that they will concede some dubious penalties very early in the first-half and probably receive a red card to have a numerical disadvantage. Things will certainly work in favour of CARA Brazzaville so Kotoko should forget about qualification," he added.

The winner after the two legs will meet the winner between Tunisian side Ben Guerdane and Al Hilal Juba of South Sudan in March.
