Having scored in back-to-back games against Perth Glory and Leeds United, the 21-year-old is now 8/1 (from 12/1) with bet365 to achieve the milestone

Having signed a new contract, Marcus Rashford could be Manchester United's main striker for the upcoming season.

The 21-year-old netted 10 times in the Premier League last term, his best total for a single campaign since breaking into the first team, but punters believe 2019-20 could see a real spike in those numbers.

Having scored in back-to-back pre-season games against Perth Glory and Leeds United, bet365 now make Rashford 8/1 (9.0) to reach the 20-goal mark in the top-flight.

Originally available at 12/1 (13.0) when the market was first formed, the England international's displays in Australia have been enough for some bettors to get involved.

bet365's Steve Freeth said: “Rashford has made an eye-catching start after recently signing a bumper new deal and, with doubts over the future of Romelu Lukaku, he looks primed to better his 10-goal haul from last season.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems more concerned with bolstering United's fragile defence as opposed to their attacking options, although Daniel James has impressed this summer and looks an exciting prospect.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has already arrived in Manchester and Harry Maguire is expected to follow if a fee can be agreed with Leicester City before the transfer window closes on August 8.

Lukaku has been ruled out of the International Champions Cup clash against Inter - the club believed to be the leading suitors for his services this summer.

With Alexis Sanchez failing to make an impact since his move to Old Trafford, Rashford is expected to be the main beneficiary of the extra opportunities likely to present themselves to the other forwards available to Solskjaer in the upcoming season. It’s 33/1 (34.0) that the striker is voted PFA Player of the Year.

There 21-year-old has also come in for support in the Premier League top goalscorer market too. Rashford has been backed from 20/1 (21.0) to 16/1 (17.0) to be the division's leading marksman although the general sentiment regarding United's prospects remains somewhat negative.

Sixth last term, the Red Devils are 25/1 (26.0) for the title and 11/10 (2.10) to finish inside the top four with bet365 at the time of writing.

The same firm are 5/2 (3.50) about United winning a major trophy and 2/7 (1.29) that another season without silverware awaits Solskjaer’s side.
