The former Phobians playmaker gives his thoughts on how the 'big boys' can be more consistent with positive results

Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo says coaches of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko cannot solely rely on their players for results.

The 'Dribbling Magician' was speaking in the wake of the inconsistent performance of both teams in the Ghana Premier League this season.

After seven rounds of matches, Ghana's biggest and most successful clubs in the history of the topflight have each won three games, lost three and drawn another.

“[Hearts] coach [Henry] Wellington and [Kotoko's] Paa Kwasi [Fabin] need to add some value to themselves to perform well, and not rely only on the players," Polo told Adom FM

"The coaches need to come out with something extraordinary to impact on the players.

“The coaches need to upgrade, get value and the teams will produce results.

"Anybody can win, but these two clubs are extraordinary and need coaches with value [to] help them perform both on the local front and in Africa."

Hearts and Kotoko sit sixth and seventh respectively on the league table.
