With just one win in 2019 the Foxes parted company with the 57-year-old Frenchman and the current Celtic boss is the frontrunner to take over

Leicester City are on the hunt for a new manager for a fifth time in under four years.

The Foxes parted ways with Claude Puel after a disappointing run of results, culminating in a 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday night.

The King Power Stadium hasn't been a happy hunting ground of late and the fanbase have been extremely vocal in their frustrations in recent weeks.

The East Midlands side have lost their previous four home games and a 1-0 win over Everton on New Year's Day was the only win the Blues have managed in 2019.

William Hill make Brendan Rodgers the 10/11 (1.91) favourite in their next Leicester City manager odds.

Celtic crashed out of the Europa League in midweek, but questions remain over whether Rodgers would leave with the Hoops in a commanding position at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

If the Foxes are prepared to wait until the summer to secure Rodgers' services, then it's important for punters to take note of William Hill's rule regarding any interim appointment. Any candidate taking charge of 10 competitive games - or who is appointed to oversee at least that many - would be deemed a winner in the market.

Michael Appleton took charge of two Leicester games after Craig Shakespeare was sacked in October 2017 and the 43-year-old - who left the coaching staff when Puel was appointed - is available at 4/1 (5.0) to return to the King Power Stadium.

While it's unlikely that Appleton would be seen as a long-term successor, the 10-game rule could see his odds shorten further if the Foxes choose to wait until the end of the campaign to appoint their first choice candidate.

Former Leicester player Neil Lennon and ex-Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner are both available at 8/1 (9.0) with William Hill who are the same price about Sean Dyche leaving Burnley to take over.

Rafael Benitez has cut a frustrated figure on Tyneside at times and is 10/1 (11.0) to succeed Puel with his contract expiring at the end of the season. With the Magpies in good form though, plus the arrival of a club record signing Miguel Almiron, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid has looked more content in recent weeks but his long-term future at St. James' Park is certainly a matter for debate giving the lack of a new deal.

Nigel Pearson is 16/1 (17.0) for a dramatic return to the King Power Stadium. The 55-year-old left OH Leuven - a Belgian club owned by the King Power Group - earlier this month. Were he to take over, it would be Pearson's third spell in charge of the Foxes.
