Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has attempted to shift pressure away from his players as his side looks to end their trophy drought.

The Soweto giants came into the current season with high hopes following a relatively successful campaign which saw them challenge for the PSL title.

They are now expected to go one step further by clinching the most coveted trophy in the country, the PSL title and end their four-year barren run.

Pirates had a slow start to the season, but they have since rediscovered their form as they are undefeated in their last six matches having recorded three wins and three draws.

Their current form sees the Buccaneers placed second on the league standings - a point behind current log leaders Bidvest Wits

"First of all, the only pressure I feel in my life is pressure from God," Sredojevic said on Vodacom Soccer

"When I get to praying in the evening and pray in the morning, I pray to come clean together with the technical team, with the players, management and supporters that in everything possible we have a top performance to get results," the Serbian coach continued.

Sredojevic, who has won league titles in Ethiopia and Sudan, stated that his players should be free to express themselves without feeling any pressure.

"I like to accept all the pressure on to my shoulders to let the legs of our players be unlocked. To let their legs be free to express themselves to get to a performance that will get us the results that we are looking for," Micho concluded.

Pirates' next competitive match will be against Chippa United in a 2018 Telkom Knockout Round of 16 tie at the Orlando Stadium.

A highly-anticipated league encounter between Pirates and their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs will then follow on October 27.
