Already boasting Japanese star Keisuke Honda, Melbourne Victory are close to adding another World Cup player to their squad in the form of Swedish attacker Ola Toivonen.
Victory however already have two marquees in their squad in the form of Honda and James Troisi, so any deal for Toivonen would have to be done under the cap.
Toivonen, a Swedish national team regular, played all of his country's games at the 2018 World Cup and scored in a loss against Germany.
Beginning his career with Degerfors IF, the 6ft 4' striker would later seal moves to Malmö FF and PSV - where he wracked up over 100 appearances in the Eredivisie.
Returning to France after an unsuccessful spell in England, Toivonen signed for Toulouse but has struggled to make his mark.
The Swedish attacker failed to score a goal in the league last season across 23 appearances with his only two goals coming in the Coupe De La Ligue.
After the departure of Besart Berisha, Victory are in desperate need of a goal scorer and though recent form is a worry, Toivonen could well fit the bill and bring a few fans with him.
Toulouse have since confirmed Toivonen's depature from the club and revealed Victory will be his next destination.
