Cliff Nyakeya celebrates goal against Gor Mahia
Despite being seven goals shy of KPL leading scorer Elvis Rupia, Nyakeya is not giving up on the race to claiming the Golden Boot

Mathare United forward Cliff Nyakeya is looking forward for another chance to celebrate a goal against AFC Leopards.

Nyakeya hit a brace in a seven-goal thriller that marked the first leg encounter between both sides, even though his effort could save Mathar e from falling 4-3 to Ingwe.

But even as the ‘Slum Boys’ prepare to pick themselves up from a seven-match winless run, Nyakeya, who has hit nine goals so far this season, the pacy forward is in the mood to brig moment of sorrow on the faces of AFC Leopards fans.

“It was nice scoring against them in the first leg so why not?” Nyakeya was quoted by Mathare United website.

Despite being seven goals shy of KPL leading scorer Elvis Rupia, Nyakeya is not giving up on the race to claiming the Golden Boot.

“The Golden Boot is still within reach so I have to keep scoring in the remaining matches.”

Rupia has since moved to the Zambian Premier League

But with Zoo FC’s striker Nicholas Kipkurui set to miss three matches and Gor Mahia Jacques Tuyisenge unlikely to feature against Nakumatt, a goal against Ingwe will surely put Nyakeya within a touching distance of the top candidates for the award.

Rupia, who joined Zambian side Power Dynamos in June, has 15 goals while both Tuyisenge and Kipkurui have 11 goals each.
