The Tanzania Premier League will continue on Saturday evening whereby newly crowned Champions Simba SC will play host to Kagera Sugar at the Banjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
After the match, Simba will be presented with their trophy with Tanzania President His Excellency, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli expected to be the Guest of Honor.
Simba have already won the title after accumulating 68 points in 28 games and they are two matches away before completing an unbeaten season in the Premier League.
Ahead of the match, Coach Pierre Lechantre has no fresh injury concerns in his squad and he is expected to give chances to players who have not featured in many games this season.
In their last game against Singida United, Lechantre decided to hand the starting spot to Mohamed Hussein, Paul Bukaba and Laudit Mavugo instead of Asante Kwasi, Nicholas Gyan and Shiza Kichuya.
Also the likes of Haruna Nyionzima made an appearance from the bench after stepping up recovery from his long term injury.
Speaking ahead of the game, Simba’s spokesman Hajji Manara said that they have been in good shape since they confirmed the title and they will continue to perform well in their remaining matches.
“We don’t want to disappoint our fans, we all know what they want and we will give it to them, they have to come on Saturday in order to watch what we do in front of our President,” said Manara.
Simba have won the Premier League title for the first time in five seasons and they are expected to represent the country in the CAF Champions League next season after a disappoint campaign in CAF Confederation Cup this season.
Elsewhere, former champions Yanga will play against Shinyanga based side Mwadui at the Kambarage stadium in another premier league clash on Saturday.
Yanga head into the game following their barren goalless draw against Rwanda’s Rayon Sports in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
The Jangwani outfit needed a win against Rayon Sports in order to keep their hopes alive in the group but the draw has complicated matters.
Yanga need to win the game so as to reduce the gap in points between them and the second place Azam.
Yanga currently who sit third at the table with 48 points have played less games than other teams and they trail Azam by four points.
