Man City unveil new 2018-19 kit and will debut it against Brighton

Manchester City have unveiled their kit for the 2018-19 season.

Pep Guardiola's Premier League champions will wear the smart new kit for the first time in their clash with Brighton in their final home game of the campaign.

City have been in incredible form this season, and could still crack 100 points, if they win their final two matches of the campaign against the Seagulls and Southampton.

The kit features City's iconic blue colour, and also has speed blur stripes along the arms and shoulders, along with a button detail on the collar.

Navy socks and white shorts complete the kit, with the socks a throwback to City's first league title win in 1937.

City and manufacturers Nike have teamed up with the club's foundation City in the Community (CITC) to give its participants the chance to headline the launch.

They confirmed this on the club's official website, stating: "CITC participants from the BTEC education programme, KICKS youth outreach football project and players from the amputee and Down syndrome teams took part in an exclusive kit shoot to highlight the important role that the local community has played in City’s success this season."

Winger Raheem Sterling was impressed with the new jersey, sharing a photo on his Twitter account with the caption "New kit looks fresh. On pitch tonight"

Wednesday's clash between Man City and Brighton will not have major repercussions for the makeup of the table with both teams nearing the end of their seasons.

Brighton have secured their safety, and City are guaranteed to finish at least 11 points clear of second-placed Manchester United.

The Blues drew 0-0 with Huddersfield Town last time out, and lifted the Premier League trophy afterwards.
