After his side were defeated by UKM FC in the FAM Cup semi-finals, Shahzan Muda head coach Tajuddin Nor said that his side were the dominant team, but were unlucky.

Although the hosts were unable to play well as usual in the second leg match, Shahzan Muda failed to capitalise by opening the scoring. The match dragged to extra-time, and Faidzol Fazreen Shamsudin's 110th minute goal sent UKM into the final with a 1-0 win on aggregate, as well as into the 2018 Premier League.

UKM's winning goal against Shahzan Muda.

"We were simply unlucky, especially in the last few minutes when our chances were kept out by the UKM goalkeeper. In the 90 minutes we were dominant and we continued dominating in the extra-time, but ultimately luck was not on our side.

"The players have given their utter best, but that was not enough," said Tajuddin to the press after the match.

He now hopes that the club would be given another crack in the third tier by the board in the following season.

"We have to wait for the board's word on next season. But I hope we get another chance because we are a feeder club (to Super League's Pahang).

"Furthermore, most of my current players are young, and another season in the league will allow them to gain more experience," noted the former Pahang head coach.
