William Hill's Golden Goal promotion is running for the Champions League clash at Anfield and offers cash pay-outs of up to £50 for eligible customers

Liverpool and Bayern Munich meet in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Tuesday evening.

As if the game wasn't intriguing enough for punters, William Hill have revealed they'll be running their Golden Goal promotion on the clash at Anfield.

This concession sees anyone placing a match odds bet on either team to win will be paid out as a winner in cash if their selection scores the first goal, regardless of the result after 90 minutes.

For example, if Liverpool open the scoring but fail to win the game, anyone who struck a pre-match single bet on them in the 1X2 market will still be paid out, up to £50. T&Cs can be found here.

Jurgen Klopp's side have had some mixed fortunes in Europe this term. The Reds got the better of Napoli in the final matchday to secure a place in the knockout stages having lost three of their previous group stage clashes.

William Hill make the hosts Even money (2.0) favourites to win the match. and claim a first leg advantage.

Conversely, Bayern had a relatively stress-free route to the last 16, remaining unbeaten and picking up 14 points to top Group E, albeit in a group that offered fewer challenges than Liverpool's did.

Interestingly in terms of the Golden Goal offer, Nico Kovac's men opened the scoring in all six of those matches but only won four of them so the visitors might be a potential wager at 5/2 (3.50).

The bookmakers are struggling to separate the pair in terms of the tie overall with William Hill going 5/6 (1.83) about either side qualifying for the quarter-finals. The key could be how either side cope with their current injury and suspension issues.

The Reds are without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez plus there are serious doubts over Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino.

Thomas Muller, Corentin Tolisso, Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng will all be absent for the visitors while Leon Goretzka and Franck Ribery are also struggling with injuries.

Whichever side you’re backing, William Hill’s Golden Goal offer is certainly worth considering given it offers cash pay-outs of up to £50 should your chosen pre-match selection score the first goal.
