Barcelona and Real Betis are hoping to complete the joint signing of Atletico Mineiro defender Emerson, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The deal would see Betis pay around €9million (£8m/$10.3m) for the 19-year-old with Barcelona paying €3million (£2.7m/$3.4m) for first option on the youngster's signature as well as a percentage of any future sale.

However, to complete the transfer Betis would have to sell one of their current non-EU players, with Japan international Takashi Inui the most likely to make way.
