The Harmony Warriors are making a trip to face neighbours in Minna but the gaffer insists he is not plotting revenge against his former side

Coach Abubakar Bala has revealed that revenge is not on his mind as his Kwara United side face Niger Tornadoes in a Nigerian topflight tie at the Bako Kontagora Stadium on Sunday.

Bala launched his coaching career in the top-flight with the Ikon Allah Boys, guiding them to the Federation Cup final and top-flight safety in 2017 season before his sack this January.

However, he replaced erstwhile gaffer John Obuh at the Ilorin-based outfit in March, and his wards have only suffered a defeat in eight consecutive matches.

Ahead of the showdown, he reveals that he has long overcome the heartbreak of his sack and holds no grudges against his former employers.

"I am fully focused on preparing my boys for the match against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday," Bala told Goal.

"The players know the importance of the match in Minna and will are taking the game very seriously because every point counts if we are still hoping to escape relegation this season.  I think getting the three points will take us a long way.

"Going back to Minna is definitely a home return for me but I'm not seeking revenge against Tornadoes. I'm always grateful for the opportunity and the experience I gained at the club.

"I must say with all sincerity and honesty that I have no grudge against the club or the management. All that happened are in the past and I'm glad the team are doing very well without me. Sunday's match will be more like a friendly."
