Kenya set to miss services of key players against Ghana

Harambee Starlets will miss services of key players when they face Ghana in a Fifa World Cup qualifier on November 5.

Twelve U-20 players are yet to report to camp as the team started preparations for the qualifier scheduled for Accra.

Goalkeeper Diana Tembesi, defenders Foscah Nashivanda, Leah Cherotich, Mary Khamete, Linda Nyongesa, Sharon Zainabu; attackers Martha Amunyolete, Monicah Paul, Jentrix Shikangwa, Tumaini Waliaula, Josephine Imungu, Marion Analo all have not shown up in camp with less than two weeks before the trip.

Kenya will miss seven of the squad members that eliminated Ethiopia in the last round. The seven, Sheryl Angachi, Cynthia Shilwatso, Maureen Khakasa, Cynthia Akinyi, Sharon Adhiambo, Mercy Airo and Vivian Nasaka are writing their final year examinations.

Kenya will take on Ghana in the first round tie scheduled for between November 3 and November 5, 2017, in Accra. The team reported to camp last Saturday and has since held three training sessions on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Of the 30 players called up ahead of the tie, 16 have reported to camp, with the rest set to check in the course of the week.
