Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has sent a strong message to the Glamour Boys' faithful to stop booing the club's players.

The Amakhosi right back was speaking after winning the man of the match award against AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

“Our defenders scored the goals today (Saturday). I’m very happy. One more message to our supporters: they are brilliant, we love them but they must stop booing one of us, we don’t come here to play around,” Mphahlele told Supersport TV.

Meanwhile, the full-back also acknowledged the 12th man's presence and said they must understand that mistakes are part of the game of football.

Mphahlele scored on Saturday together with Siyabonga Ngezana and he also expressed delight in the wake of their fine run as they have bagged three consecutive wins.

Under coach Giovanni Solinas, the Soweto giants bagged their first 2018/19 PSL win over Cape Town City last Saturday before overcoming Free State Stars at Goble Park Stadium on Tuesday and Usuthu in Johannesburg.

However, the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns player has urged his team-mates to remain calm and not let complacency creep in.

“We come here to play for them. We know that they spend a lot of money to come here. So we plea they must just stick by us, the mistakes are there, but we’ll give 100% in every game,” he added.

“The supporters have been brilliant, this is for them you know. We play for them every game we want to make them happy,” continued the Bafana Bafana defender.

“I’m happy for the team after a slow start we’ve picked ourselves up. We just have to be consistent and be level-headed,” added 'Rama'.

“Keep winning, if we keep winning the confidence goes up, and the spirit in the team becomes a happy place,” he concluded.

Following their third win on the trot, Amakhosi now occupy the fourth spot on the table with 13 points from eight league matches so far.

Meanwhile, the Naturena-based side will prepare to face the 2017/18 National First Division (NFD) champions, Highlands Park, away in Tembisa on Tuesday October 02.
