John Baraza wants people to drop favourite tag as Sofapaka face Kariobangi Sharks

Sofapaka head coach John Baraza has played down reports terming his team as clear favorites ahead of Saturday's Shield Cup final against Kariobangi Sharks.

Both teams are aiming at getting a win that will hand them a right to represent the nation in Caf Confederation Cup next season. Baraza is however, optimistic of a good outing in his first final as Batoto ba Mungu coach.

“Contrary to what people are saying, this is going to be a tough match for us and them as well. It is a final and every team wants victory, so it is definitely not going to be like any other game.

“Yes, we might be a better side but that does not mean we have an upper hand. What we will do on the pitch will determine whether we are going to win it or not.”

Sofapaka eliminated former champions AFC Leopards in the semi-finals.
