Ghana striker Richmond Boakye has heaped praise on Jiangsu Suning manager Cosmin Olariou following their 2-1 victory over Tianjin TEDA in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
The 25-year-old, who arrived at the club in January under former coach Fabio Capello, had to wait for almost six weeks before making his bow due to injury. He scored the opening goal, with Alex Teixeira claiming the winner.
“Olariou gives us self-confidence and ambition to win," Boakye told the club's website.
"Although, he only took over his position last week, he is a good man and I like his style of coaching and handling of issues," he added.
Boakye also thanked the club's supporters and teammates for their encouragement during his time in the treatment room.
“I want to thank my teammates and fans for their support. To be honest, I appreciate everything they did for me even when I wasn't playing due to the injury,” he said.
Olariou, who previously coached Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan at Al Ain and Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates, is expected to hand Yiadom his debut start when Suning play Guangzhou R&F on Friday.
