Jesse Were’s second-half goal helped Zesco United to consolidate their lead at the top of the Zambian Super League following a 3-0 victory over Zanaco.
The Harambee Stars forward doubled Zesco United’s advantage with a 57th-minute goal to add to a first-half opener by Enock Sabumukama.
Were’s striking partner Lazarus Kambole completed the job with a third goal late in the second half to help Team ya Ziko open a five-point lead at the top with two games at hand.
Zesco United are at the summit with 61 points, followed by Green Buffaloes and Green Eagles at 56 and 50 points respectively.
Were joined Zesco United in 2016 from Kenyan side Tusker.
