Jesse Were: Kenyan clubs must invest for success

Zesco United forward Jesse Were has hit out at local clubs for not investing in football as compared to other teams across the continent. 

Tusker FC and Ulinzi Stars were both eliminated from their continental assignments by 'inferior' opponents. Were says there is talent in Kenya, but the management should be serious with the same in order for the game to grow.

Sofapaka out to make strides in 2017 season

"It hurts to see our clubs here at home failing to do better in the continent when we are aware that there is massive talent here. It all starts from the management, they have to invest in football, have quality players and prepare well. It is not good to see our teams get eliminated earlier season in season out," Were told Goal.

Were was in the Zesco team that went all the way to the semis of Caf Champions League last season before being knocked out by eventual winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
