Although Australian centre back Zac Anderson could not help Kedah defend their Malaysia Cup title following their 2-0 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim in the final on Saturday, he will be leaving the side with good memories.

In October, Anderson and Kedah's star striker Ken Ilso Larsen announced that they will be leaving the Red Eagles after the 2017 season ends.

"Thank you so much for everyone in Alor Star, from Kedah. I've had an incredible year, I've had so much fun at the club and amazing success.

"We just fell short tonight to a very, very good Johor team. But I personally want to thank you everyone who have come into my life this year and helped give me support. I've loved being a Kedah player so much," he told the press when interviewed after the match.

But when asked about his future, the 26-year old was coy, only responding with a "We'll see."

The Aussie had joined Kedah in the pre-season as replacement for South Korean Bang Seung-hwan. He won the 2017 FA Cup with them, and scored one goal each in the Super League and the FA Cup.
