ISL 2018-19: Who are NorthEast United FC's foreign signings

With the fifth edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) fast approaching, the 10 teams have been busy finalising their rosters. With less than a month to go for the new season to kick-off, we take a look at how the teams have shaped up with respect to their overseas signings.

Here, we take a look at the seven foreigners who will turn out for the Highlanders.

MATO GRGIC

The 30-year-old Croatian and will be expected to shore up a leaky defence which conceded goals galore last season. The 1.84m tall Grgic has played the majority of his career in Croatia and Hungary and this will be his first stint in Asia, let alone India.  

MISLAV KOMORSKI

Also looking to strengthen NorthEast United's defence will be Croatian Mislav Komorski. The 26-year-old centre-back is a product of the Dinamo Zagreb Academy. He moves to India from Croatian side Inter Zaprešic, the same as Grgic. 

JOSE DAVID LEUDO

The 24-year-old Leudo will be expected to fortify the Highlanders' midfield. The Colombian central midfielder has played for a variety of clubs in Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and even Uruguay but this is his first move to Asia. 

FEDERICO GALLEGO

The 28-year-old will add further Latin American flavour to NorthEast United's midfield. The Uruguayan attacking midfielder is also making his first move outside South America. 

AUGUSTINE OKRAH

Okrah is a Ghanaian attacking midfielder who will look to add some bite to NorthEast United's forays forward this season. The 24-year-old for various Ghanaian and Sudanese clubs and has also had a short loan stint at Swedish club BK Hacken. 

JUAN CRUZ MASCIA

Mascia adds to the strong Latin American presence in the NorthEast United's foreign contingent. The 24-year-old forward will be required to bang in the goals, with the club scoring the least goals last time around. The Uruguayan moves to India from Uruguay's Plaza Colonia. 

BARTHOLOMEW OGBECHE 

The 33-year-old Nigerian forward is the most high-profile of NorthEast United's signings this season. The Paris Saint-Germain youth product has represented Nigeria on 11 occasions and has scored three goals for them. He has played for the likes of SC bastia, FC Metz, Middlesbrough, Alaves apart from PSG.
