The 28-year-old forward rejoins the South Wales outfit after two years with the Citizens and he is raring to showcase his best form again

Wilfried Bony believes he still has more to offer after his deadline day transfer from Manchester City to former club Swansea City in a £12million deal.

The Ivory Coast international who joined the Swans in 2013 from Vitesse scored 34 goals in 70 appearances at the Liberty Stadium before his £28million move to the Etihad Stadium in January 2015.

But he found first team opportunities hard to come by at the blue half of Manchester, with new gaffer Pep Guardiola deeming him surplus to requirements, hence his deadline day move back to South Wales after just two seasons.

And the Ivorian believes he still has more to offer despite his botched loan deal at Stoke City last season where he made just 10 appearances and scored twice.

“I am still at school. I always want to improve, and I have a lot to show,” Bony told club website.

“I have a very good feeling, especially for myself, the fans and my family.

“I need to be on the pitch playing, so when I heard Swansea wanted me back I was very excited.

“I don’t have a target to achieve, I just want to take it match by match – I want the best for the team first, and then you will see the rest.”

And with his return to the club, Bony was appreciative of the support the Swans faithful have always shown him even after when he had left the club.

“The fans were very good to me, and I can’t wait to be back with them again,” he added.

“I always watched the Swansea news all the time on the internet and the games they played. The club was always a part of me.

“We had some enjoyable moments together – now those moments are happening again.

“When I spoke to my family, they said ‘yes, you have options, but go to Swansea. Don’t think about anything else – go to Swansea.’

“My family love it here. I was happy here too, and I will be happy again.”
