The Students are going to have to pull up their sleeves and play matches in succession, starting this week

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is not concerned that they will be afforded little preparation for games with Highlands Park, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

“There’s no time for the preparation of games. We prepare in pre-season, that’s preparation time. You can’t worry about preparation now. We are prepared for the games we have to play,” Hunt told Goal.

The Braamfontein-based club visited Highlands Park on Friday night, before welcoming the reigning champions Downs on Thursday.

Thereafter they host the Buccaneers within the space of a week. They will have a maximum preparation time of two days only and it’s a schedule they no doubt don’t welcome given the stage they are facing right now.

Hunt, who boasts the record of clinching three successive championships, refuses to rule out their chances of league supremacy following their midweek defeat to SuperSport United.

Instead, Hunt has urged his troops to pick themselves up for the coming clashes towards the end of the season.

“We’re disappointed we lost against SuperSport, but we need to pick ourselves in the upcoming games,” Hunt said.

The defeat to United at home saw them lose a bit of ground on the title front-runners, Cape Town City.
