Hazard posts Premier League best return for Chelsea

The Blues forward opened the scoring early on against Southampton, with that effort taking him to 15 for the season in top-flight competition

A memorable season for Eden Hazard at Chelsea has now seen him post a personal best return in terms of Premier League goals.

Hazard wants titles - not hat-tricks

Prior to the 2016-17 campaign, the Belgian international had contributed 14 efforts on two separate occasions.

He has, however, taken his tally for this term to 15 with an early strike against Southampton.

Hazard was teed up by Diego Costa before crashing a low drive into the bottom corner.

Hazard endured a well-documented dip last season, which saw him find the target just four times in Premier League competition.

He has rediscovered his spark in some style under Antonio Conte and helped to lead a title charge.

N’Golo Kante may have scooped the PFA Player of the Year award, but Hazard has been a talismanic presence for the Blues in the final third.

His 15-goal haul is now his best since reaching the 20 mark with Lille in 2011-12.
