K'Ogalo CEO Omondi Aduda reveals to Goal that the club is on the verge of signing the Ugandan star, who is a free agent

Gor Mahia have confirmed that they are in the process of signing former Tusker midfielder Shafik Batambuze.

K’Ogalo CEO Omondi Aduda has revealed to Goal that they have been holding positive talks with the Ugandan midfielder, who is now a free agent after leaving Singida United of Tanzania.

“We are close to agreeing a deal to bring him to Gor Mahia,” Aduda told Goal .

“It is just a matter of when the transfer window opens and the deal will be sealed. We want to give him a three-year contract and everything is already in place.”

Apart from Tusker and Singida United, Batambuze has also featured for for Simba SC of Tanzania, Muhoroni Youth, SC Villa (Uganda), Western Stima and Sofapaka. He made his international debut for Uganda Cranes in 2016 and was named in the squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
