After beating off his marker, the midfielder smashed home a stunning long-range strike from outside the area to help Slavisa Jokanovic’s men clinch their first win of the season.

And the effort has been shortlisted along with Roberto Pereyra [Watford], Lucas Moura [Tottenham Hotspur], Callum Wilson [Bournemouth], Andre Gray [Watford], David Silva [Manchester City], and Ryan Bertrand's [Southampton] strikes for the league’s prize.

Seri will hope to pick the award to crown his impressive start in the English elite division having arrived at the Craven Cottage in July from French Ligue 1 side Nice.
