Kaizer Chiefs are assessing Zimbabwean midfielder Tanaka Chinyahara, who joined the club for pre-season training on Monday.
The 21-year-old saw his contract with Danish second division side Hobro IK in June come to an end on June 30, 2017.
That was after he spent last season on loan at Jammerbugt FC. Hobro felt he didn't do enough to earn a new contract.
Chinyahara is a former Bidvest Wits academy player, and after five years at the club's youth structures, he moved straight to Hobro IK in 2015.
There were reports that he could be going back to Zimbabwe to sign for Dynamos, but he's since decided to try his luck at Naturena.
Chinyahara is a central midfielder, and with Chiefs having already missed out on the signature of Thamsanqa Sangweni, who joined Orlando Pirates, the player could well use this opportunity to win the heart of Steve Komphela.
Chiefs can still afford to sign one more foreign international, although their foreign quota could be freed up when Michelle Katsvairo finally leaves the Soweto giants on loan.
The Glamour Boys have already signed Chinyahara's countryman Teenage Hadebe as part of strengthening their squad for the upcoming campaign.
