AFC Leopards have lodged a complaint with FKF after Sofapaka named Moussa Omar in the team sheet for Sunday match.

According to Ingwe Team Manager Gilbert Selebwa, Omar was due to start the semi-final clash at Kasarani before he pointed out the anomaly to the match commissioner Maxi Itur.

“We handed in the team sheets one hour to kick-off and it was at this point that I realized that Sofapaka had named Omar in the squad whereas he was serving two yellow cards. I pointed out the mistake to Itur, who advised us to write a protest letter that we did.

"While the teams were lining up at the tunnel, Itur was seen canvassing with the Sofapaka Team manager and immediately thereafter, the TM ran back to the changing room and drafted a letter withdrawing the said player from the match sheet and replaced him with Humphrey Okoti.”

Selebwa adds that, Ingwe were forced to write another letter so as to play under protest. “We shall follow this matter to the end. Even if it means going to the arbitration, we will do so. This is not a matter that can be wished away that easily,” Selebwa told Goal.

A goal from Elli Asieche was enough to hand Sofapaka a 1-0 win and they will now face Kariobangi Sharks in the final. Sharks reached the final after registering an emphatic 4-1 win against Ulinzi Stars at the same venue.
