EXTRA TIME: Victor Wanyama plots to buy a house in Zanzibar

Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is considering buying a holiday home in Zanzibar Island.

The Kenyan captain, who is currently on a holiday in the Island nation, has revealed his deep love for the country, known for its wide beaches lined with hotels, adding that he might consider settling down in Zanzibar in the future.

"It’s somewhere I’d love to live, the place is calm. I’m seriously considering getting a house here," Wanyama told Azam TV.

Wanyama’s attachment for Tanzania in the recent past has raised eyebrows after the former Celtic and Southampton midfielder twice avoided other well-known tourism destinations like Lamu and Mombasa for Zanzibar.

Wanyama’s name was scribed on one of the streets in Tanzanian in 2017 after his holiday before the authorities brought it down claiming that due process was not followed.

Wanyama is one of the most paid Kenya athletes with approximately Sh20 million monthly wages; that is 18 times what President Uhuru Kenyatta takes home every month.
