Bhongolwethu Jayiya opened the scoring with only six minutes on the clock. The former Wits winger showed strength and pace as he powered his way towards goal and rifled his effort into the roof of the net.
The new City hero caused endless havoc and in the 12th minute doubled City’s advantage, latching onto a dangerous cross from Manyama.
With 16 minutes on the clock the 27-year-old confirmed his place in history as he bundled his header home, sending a small Athlone crowd into rapture.
This is how they reacted on social media:

This @CapeTownCityFC team is such a pleasure to watch. When the Ngoma, Jayiya, Manyama and Majoro combination works, it's unstoppable.— SollyMalatsi (@SollyMalatsi) April 3, 2017
