Head of media Farriel Allaputa confirmed to Goal that the People Elephants and city rivals Uchendu Warriors had agreed on an undisclosed transfer fee for the 20-year-old on Wednesday.
Adetunji had moved to Port Harcourt last week, where the Nigerian giants were preparing for their Caf Confederation Cup clash with Williamsville AC to complete his medicals and agree personal terms.
Having completed his move, the former Shooting Stars striker, who scored 14 goals last season for Abia Warriors before his eight-month-long injury sideline, will wear jersey number four for the seven-time Nigerian league kings.
Adetunji is likely to earn his Caf Confederation Cup debut when the two-time Caf Champions League battle Williamsville in Abidjan on Sunday.
"Talks have been ongoing since Enyimba contacted Abia Warriors for his services in the last few days,” Allaputa told Goal.
“He agreed on personal terms and passed his medical with the club. But his transfer deal was officially sealed this [Wednesday] afternoon. He signed a one-year contract, with an option of an extension. He has been handed the number 4 jersey and would join the team immediately in Port Harcourt.
“He’s currently training with the team, and with his transfer sorted, he could be available for the trip to Abidjan for our CAF Confederation Cup match against Williamsville AC in Cote d’Ivoire.”
