Elvis Rupia dares Zesco United goal-poacher Jesse Were after Power Dynamos move

Elvis Rupia is not scared of Jesse Were as the former Nzoai Sugar striker readies for a new life in the Zambian Super League with Power Dynamos.

Rupia joined the Kitwe-based side on a two-year deal after a successful first-half season with the Millers in the Kenyan Premier League.

Rupia scored 15-league goals for the Millers, a performance he would like to replicate with his new club.

“The fans should expect me to score goals. I am targeting to score 14 to 15 goals (this season),” Rupia was quoted by LusakaTimes.

The free-scoring striker will join the Zambian league that is dominated by a dozen of Kenyan stars; among them goal-poacher Jesse Were, who plies his trade with league holders Zesco United.

“I am not scared of him (Were). I know myself. I can score more (goals) than him,” Rupia said of Were, who has since scored 51 goals for Zesco United.

Dynamos are currently seventh on the log with 42 points, 16 adrift of leaders Zesco United.
