Egyptian Mohamed Nufal has started a road trip to Russia to support his country at the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
The fan will travel for 65 days with his bicycle to see the Pharaohs in Russia after a 28-year absence from the quadrennial showpiece.
Nufal who started his journey at the Tahrir Square on Saturday, will cover over 5,000 kilometres on his trip through seven countries across three continents.
The 24-year-old will travel through Jordan, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine but will fly over Syria to Bulgaria because of security reasons.
“It is about the road more than the arrival,” Nufal told Reuters.
“If it were just about the World Cup, I would take a plane. It is a great chance for me to see new things.”
