Enyimba's Wasiu Alalade says his side's learned a 'big lesson' following their 3-0 defeat to CARA Brazzaville in the Caf Confederation Cup Group C clash on Wednesday.
First-half strikes from Racine Louamba, Cabwey Kivutuka and Dicha Liema saw the People's Elephants record their first defeat in 12 matches in all competitions at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat, Brazzaville.
After their campaign's first loss, the disappointed former ABS forward insists his side were better but were unfortunate to bow to the Congolese in Brazzaville.
"It was unfortunate that we (Enyimba) lost in Brazzaville (on Wednesday)," Alalade told Goal.
"We went with intentions to win but was bad we could not take our chances. I was disappointed in myself because of the opportunities I had but missed them.
"None of us was happy and It was a big lesson for us because we never bargained for it. You would see that they were not even better than us in anyway but we were just unlucky.
"That's football and losing is part of the game. We just have to accept the result and forge ahead to correct our mistakes in upcoming games. I believe we will bounce back in our next game against Heartland."
