Cape Town City lose another star as Bidvest Wits announce Robyn Johannes deal

The January transfer window may have only recently re-opened, but Bidvest Wits have been hard at work negotiating deals for several of their targets.

The Students, who have struggled this season, currently find themselves bottom of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) table, and are certainly not keen on making the same mistakes next season as they have confirmed the pre-contract signings of some of the league’s hottest properties which include the likes of Cape Town City captain Robyn Johannes, Maritzburg United defender Denis Weidlich and Polokwane City forward Thobani Mncwango . The trio will join the club as of July 1, 2018.

Wits have also looked to give their season a well-needed boost as they have also confirmed the acquisition of former Orlando Pirates player Edwin Gyimah.

Gyimah in particular, will relish the opportunity to link up with his former mentor Gavin Hunt after he was reportedly on trial with the Students ever since his club Helsingborg's season had ended In November.

Wits subsequently took to their social media accounts to reveal their latest signings.

Bidvest Wits have confirmed the “precontract” signing of Thobani Mncwango, Robyn Johannes & Denis Weidlich with effect from 1 July 2018. Edwin Gyimah has also signed with our club with effect from 1 January 2018. Sifiso Myeni has been recalled from his loan with immediate effect.
