Benik Afobe is ready to swap personal glory for Stoke City’s success this season.

The Congo DR international has hit the ground running since he joined Gary Rowett’s men from Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring two goals in three Championship games.

However, despite his efforts, the Potters are still in search for their first three points, having bounced back with consective draws after their opening day loss to Leeds United.

“I’ve scored two goals in three games and before the season started I would have taken that but I’d gladly swap those goals for nine points on the board,” Afobe told club website.

“Hopefully we will gel as a team sooner rather than later and turn these draws into three points.”

“Once you find your way, and get a positive result then you can easily go four or five matches and keep winning.

“I do believe that we are one of the best teams in this league, and I believe that we have a manager who has tremendous faith in us as a group.”

Stoke will aim to clinch a win when they clash with Wigan Athletic on Wednesday evening.
