Juventus defender Medhi Benatia has stated his side’s readiness for Saturday’s Serie A opening fixture against Chievo.

Following their triumph in the Italian top-flight last term, the Old Lady will kick off the 2018-19 season with a visit to Verona.

Juventus enjoyed success on the domestic scene in the 2017-18 campaign, winning the Scudetto and Coppa Italia titles but exited the Uefa Champions League in the quarter-finals.

The Old Lady are targeting their eighth consecutive league title in the new season.

"Important week, the championship is approaching. We are ready," Benatia wrote on Instagram.

Earlier this summer, the 31-year-old led Morocco to the 2018 Fifa World Cup where they were eliminated in the group stage.

Benatia made 33 appearances for the Old Lady last term across all competitions and, alongside Alex Sandro, was the joint-most penalised player in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad alongside with 12 yellow cards.
