A win against the former African queens will send the South Africans into the last four and the tactician has is not taking their opponents lightly

South Africa will not take Equatorial Guinea for a ride when they meet in Wednesday’s Africa Women’s Championship clash.

Banyana Banyana shocked Nigeria 1-0 in their opening game and victory over the former African champions at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium will see them book a semi-final place with a game to spare.

And coach Desiree Ellis has disclosed that her team will undervalue their opponents who crumble 5-0 in their opening fixture on Sunday.

“We cannot say we won't celebrate the great performance against Nigeria. I said before the opening match, we needed to be phenomenal or be forgotten,” Ellis told Caf website.

“When I watched the game again on, we were really good in a lot of areas but we believe there is always room for improvement.

“We weren't happy with our performance but we needed the celebration. We are putting that behind us now.

“We have started preparations for the Equatorial Guinea fixture and as I said before we cannot underestimate any team. You do that at your own peril.

“We have worked really hard all this year and are not going to drop the ball. We are going to be focused and take it game by game.”
