Arsenal star Mkhitaryan launches bizarre 'Mickitoy'

Arsenal playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has expanded his portfolio away from the football field by launching his own toy.

An iconic figure in his native Armenia, the 29-year-old is giving a loyal fan base the opportunity to buy into his world.

A large number of sportsmen and women have chosen to head down a fashion path when branching out from their chosen profession.

Clothing lines and fragrances have proved popular, while the likes of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo have even moved into films and cartoons.

Mkhitaryan has opted to head in a slightly different direction with his latest venture.

The Gunners star is releasing the ‘Mickitoy’ into the marketplace, with an interactive doll supposedly modelled on his image.

He has chosen June 1 to launch the product as that is International Children’s Day in many countries.

Mkhitaryan is clearly proud of his effort, even if his promotional video is a little cringe-worthy.

The product is likely to prove popular in Mkhitaryan’s native Armenia, where he is a national hero, while sales may also spike in north London.

Arsenal supporters will be hoping that their classy midfielder is back to his best in 2018-19, with an untimely injury having stunted his progress at Emirates Stadium following a January move from Manchester United.

He will have a new manager to impress when he returns for pre-season training, with Unai Emery having been handed the baton following Arsene Wenger’s departure after 22 years at the helm.
