Ali Abondo scores in Bloemfontein Celtic debut

Ali Abondo scored his debut goal for new club, Bloemfontein Celtic in a friendly match over the weekend.

The former Gor Mahia midfielder joined Celtic as a free agent from Ajax Cape Town on a two year deal with an option of one-year extension.

Abondo hit home his first goal in Celtic’s 2-0 win against Kwa-Zulu Natal select side during the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup in honour of his Majesty, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

Tshegofatso Mabasa scored the other goal for Phunya Sele Sele in a tournament that ended with Celtic and AmaZulu taking on each in the final with Siwelele becoming the ultimate winners to take home the prestigious trophy through Kabelo Mahlasela's solitary goal.

Celtic has embarked on a vigorous pre-season schedule that includes friendly games against other PSL teams.
