AFC Leopards striker apologizes to fans after derby defeat

AFC Leopards striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has conceded that the team was way below their best against rivals Gor Mahia.

Goals from Meddie Kagere, George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo and Timothy Otieno were enough for the former champions to register a comfortable 3-0 win against their poor rivals. The Ghanaian striker now says its time for his team to rub the dust and focus on their next assignment.

"We are really disappointed with the outcome, it was not our day at all. We were literally outdone in every department, and we let our fans down. It is football though, today you are doing well, but slip the next day. Now we have to focus on our next match," Fiamenyo told Goal.

"The league is still young, but we should be consistent and avoid dropping points in matches like this."

Fiamenyo has had a good start, scoring four goals and assisting once in his nine appearances.
