AFC Leopards midfielder Marvin Nabwire pens emotional note to Rodolfo Zapata

AFC Leopards midfielder Marvin Nabwire penned a glowing tribute to his former coach, Rodolfo Zapata after the Argentine parted ways with the club.

The former Gaborone United tactician ended his five-month stint on Thursday after Ingwe's top hierarchy made a decision to terminate his two-year contract. The decision was reached at after AFC Leopards crashed out of the FKF Shield Cup in a 1-0 defeat against Sofapaka.

But despite his spiteful exit, Nabwire showered his former coach with some soothing words, despite that fact that he worked under ‘difficult’ situation.

“Respect-Thanks for what you’ve done for us. Am grateful for everything you’ve taught me and all the trust you’ve put in me no matter how difficult the situation. All the best coach to the next stop,” said Nabwire, who has been a joy to watch under Zapata.

Zapata, who will be heading to the United States as he ponders his next move replied: “Maybe I'm a loser because we lost Shield Cup semifinal, but when the recognition comes from the players that I worked with...it makes me feel special and proud!”
