AFC Leopards divided as club release final list of signings

AFC Leopards’ fans are divided whether the club made right decision to release four players and sign six in the June transfer window.

Ingwe parted ways with captain Bernard Mang’oli, who has since signed for Sofapaka, then dropped club’s leading scorer Gilbert Fiamenyo, Paul Kiongera and Charles Bruno. In return, the club acquired Victor Majid, Musa Mudde, Keziron Kizito, Alexis Kitenge, Aziz Okaka and Raymond Omondi.

This has however, drawn mixed reaction from the fans, who questioned the club management's decision to release some prized assets.

“I don’t like Ingwe’s business in the transfer for the last 10 seasons,” lamented Okello Meshack on the club's Facebook page.

“How do you let go players, only to resign them latter at a higher price? What was the club thinking when selling Bernard Mang’oli?”

Jeff Mzito: “How do you release your best (players) and bring in clueless? A big let down from the management of Ingwe.”

But some had contrary opinion. “This is very good, releasing only four players means that there is hope in the current squad. Let’s make sure that next time we only sell a few to keep the squad intact,” Oketch Opiyo.

Kiguhe Mbwaya: “Let us keep them so that we avoid this behavior of having a different team every year.”
